love is the word
At the beginning of 2024 I chose a word for the year. LOVE
The kind of love I am talking about is
…a love felt in an intimate community, in the compassion we feel for others, and the healing that love can bring about. Love of self, love of others, and love that nature offers to everyone that is paying attention.

My 'Love Art' has a magical tree in the foreground, kind of like “The Giving Tree,” from the Shel Silverstein book (one of my faves!) I was imagining a love tree that offered things that the humans who visit it need and in turn accepts gifts of love.
Creating the 'Love Tree' was pure play. I used paints, inks, papers and fabrics. My fingers, a plastic card, my etching tool, sanding sponges and every now and then a paint brush! I struggled a bit to have the love tree as the focal point like I wanted. The birch trees especially where the sunset was behind them, wanted to be the focus.
